# The Block

> The Block turns a team-specific business problem into durable, reviewed software while carrying business context, planning, implementation, approvals, and future improvements in one connected workspace.

The Block is built for founders, operators, and lean teams that need custom business software around a stubborn workflow. It is not positioned as a generic prompt-to-app builder or universal cloud host. The product combines plan-first Application work with controlled AI execution, expert delivery, Research, Go To Market, Business Intelligence, Design Assets, Initiatives, funding visibility, and team collaboration.

- [Gmail status](https://theblock.me/integrations/gmail): Gmail is not available. The Block does not currently access or process Gmail mailbox data through a Gmail connection.

## Important boundaries

- A hosted Application is a business web Application whose exact repository, framework, integrations, and risks are confirmed during planning; The Block does not claim support for every kind of software.
- The Block governs its own workspace and build-and-release process. Hosted-Application end-user authentication, private sharing, SSO, and roles are implemented per Application when required; they are not automatic platform features.
- Application changes do not merge or release themselves. The owner reviews an exact preview and commit and decides what ships.
- Applications are available on paid plans.
- Provider connections may remain limited while provider review is pending. Gmail is not currently available.
- Custom domains require a DNS handoff and verification. They are not activated with one click.
- Connection and Secret access is scoped. Not every OAuth credential is copied into the Application runtime, and credential values are not public or model-facing documentation.
- Google-Doc-like sharing is a product direction, not a capability described as already shipped.
